The Los Calderones Stream has carved a deep gorge where conditions for life are not easy.
Water seeps into the limestone and the verticality of walls does not allow the ground to develop, which is why the few plants that live here must anchor their roots into the fissures of the rock or dip them in the stream.
Something similar happens to birds, which are represented by species adapted to living in rocky environments and to nesting on ledges and crevices of the limestone walls, such as house and crag martins or the peregrine falcon.
The gorge also provides an opportunity to observe some birds related to the vegetation surrounding the course of Los Calderones Stream.
