The Las Palomas bridge marks the boundary between the counties of Laciana and Babia. At its foot was opened a deep gorge through which the Sil River flows, still young and full of energy.
The scenery is spectacular, chaired by high limestone peaks of Babia and a dizzying gorge, announcing the relentless domain of the Sil River which, at this point, enters in Laciana lands.
The rocky walls of this gorge offer shelter to some birds, such as red-billed and yellow-billed choughs, seeking cavities where to establish their nests. The Montagu's harrier, the common raven and the carrion crow are also easily observed in the region.
