In the surroundings of Faedo de Ciñera, it is possible to define three different environments that provide resources to three well differentiated groups of birds.
Firstly the beech forest, damp and shady, is home to a large community of forest birds that find food and shelter in these leafy trees.
Secondly, there is a holm-oak wood, which is seated on the sunny slopes nearby, with a predominate dry climate.
Finally, the Villar Stream (the same one crossing the beech forest) has carved a narrow gorge on the limestone, a narrow gorge, where only well adapted bird species can survive between these vertical rock walls, e.g. wallcreepers.
