Palaciosmil pinewoods

La Cepeda has numerous pine reforestations, such as the Palaciosmil pinewoods, whose age give them a certain degree of naturalization. So these forests have a bird community similar to natural pinewoods of the same features.
Among the various species of pines that make up this forest mass, and in the margins of pinewood, dominated by bushes and scrublands, it is possible to find species of birds associated with forest environments and marginal cleared areas. The common crossbill and the coal tit enjoy many resources offered by the pines, while some birds of prey such as the Eurasian sparrowhawk stalk their prey from selected watchtowers located in the deep forest.
