Matalavilla reservoir

The Matalavilla reservoir collects the waters of the Valseco River to channel them toward the hydroelectric power station of Las Ondinas, located in the course of the Sil River. On the water is easy to guess the silhouette of some waterfowl such as the great crested grebe, the mallard and, occasionally, yellow-legged gulls and black-backed gulls.
On the shore of the reservoir we can find a wide variety of environments such as rocky areas, holm-oak wood and oak groves grasslands, shrublands, chestnuts and poplar groves. In each of them it is possible to find a characteristic bird community, so that this point can be very attractive for beginners in bird watching.
